Dr. Gerard B. Ventre of Florida Technological University in Orlando, FL sends a letter of inquiry to ASA in regards to establishing a Florida Chapter.

February 6, 1973

An organizational meeting is held at Horne’s Motor Lodge in Orlando with an attendance of 37.

May 10 - 11, 1973

First meeting is help; and Officers are selected.

November 1973

The Florida Regional Chapter is officially established by the ASA Executive Council.

June 7 - 8, 1974

Chapter Meeting is held at the Carillion Hotel in Miami Beach.

Keynote address was presented by Mr. Daniel Flynn, Chief, Applied Acoustics Section, National Bureau of Standards, Washington DC. Speakers include: W.A. Smith, J.O. Borthwick, J. Kirksey, W. Lindeman, J. Proni, S.L. Adams, I.D. Groves, and G.D. Hughes.

November 21-22, 1974

Chapter meeting is held at the Sheraton Hotel in Orlando. Speakers include: Alan Smith, Dr. William Yost, Dr. Ronal David, Dean King, Dr. Stanley Dunn, Joan Barriage, Dr. E.E. Berkau.

May 22-23, 1975

Chapter meeting is held at the Don Ce-Sar Resort in St. Petersburg. Speakers include: S.J. Kirksey, C.E. Williams, J. Mahig, and W. Lindeman.

October 15, 1976

Chapter meeting is held at the University of Florida Reitz Union. A lunch honoring State Senator John Vogt was held. Presenters included: M. Lunch, D. Teas, W. Yost, D. Fagen, H. Hollien, C. Oliver, G. Ventre, A. Paige, W.W. Lindeman, and J. Roberts.

May 12-13, 1977

Chapter meeting is held at the Sheraton Jet Port Inn in Orlando.

April 27, 1978

Chapter meeting is held at the Holiday Lodge in Panama City. Presenters included: Mosko, Olson, Shelley, and Demartino.
